The project assisted preparations for rapidly occurring floods by generating dataseries of floods, water quality, and hydro-meteorology on an on-going basis. Floodsconstitute a regular threat for people living beside waters. Protection of their homes,their property, and first of all their physical integrity is not only their own responsibility.Preparation and protection requires not only considerable expertise but major financialexpenses as well. As a result of the project, preparations in the sections concerned of thecross-border region have become more efficient; people living in the region can be safer;and both their life conditions and property security have been improved.
