eScouts - Intergenerational Learning Cercle for Community Service
Date du début: 1 janv. 2011,

Growing attention towards eInclusion policies (i2010, Riga Declaration) has been registered, considering ICT/Internet as vehicle for personal development, active citizenship, social inclusion and employability. Over the last 10-15 years a great number of NGOs have activated several networks of Public Internet Centres (PICs) to reduce the Digital Divide by promoting eSkills, an effort recognised in the EU Ministerial eInclusion Conference . Their eInclusion facilitators are the promoters of disadvantaged users' engagement. The partnership proposes to develop an innovative intergenerational exchange between elderly and youth volunteers, using ICT as a vehicle and promoting a community and transversal impact resulting from the diversification of social actors and values involved. More specifically, the project intends to:- train youth groups to become ICT teachers of the digital excluded elderly under the umbrella and according to the "community Service - learning" approach;- train the elderly to become mentors for the youth (their previous teachers), providing life experience and perspective of values, adding specific focus on employability issues and using ICT to increase the impact of their voice;- train developers of intergenerational learning of each partner country to become the key actors and mediators of those two groups, provide them with adequate training and assessment, and customize the content and method to the local needs. All the training provided is planned to be blended, face to face and virtual through an elearning platform (web 2.0), and will include certification orientation. The first months of the project development will be dedicated to research and harmonization of partners' background regarding training approaches and pedagogic language, in view of designing a "trans-national" and coherent curriculum for each target group. A dissemination and exploitation plan is expected to be set up from the start to the end of the project.
