Escola em mobilidade - uma aposta pelo futuro

The Agrupamento de Escolas de Muralhas do Minho consists of all public schools in the municipality of Valença. Its educational project identifies a set of strategic objectives that entail a European vision of teaching and a solid approach on staff training. The school strategy acknowledges that a fundamental transformation of education and training is needed to address the new skills and competences required to improve academic results.Following the organization goals, this application aims to implement innovative pedagogical approaches; to improve the professional skills to meet the individual needs of students and to handle heterogeneous groups; to share ideas and practices with teachers from other nationalities and educational contexts; to promote, from pre-school, teaching practices and quality that lead to the goals of Europe 20/20 (success of young people); and identify opportunities for future collaborations / partnerships.The staff mobilities comprise 25 staff members. This group includes school teachers and management members. The teachers integrate the subject areas in which a need for results improvement has been identified: math and foreign languages. Teachers who lead intermediate structures will also attend the courses.Activities include participation in structured courses and job shadowing in the partner school, Franz-von-Lenbach-Schule.The methodology to develop the project relies on staff mobility and the subsequent dissemination, through workshops, of the acquired knowledge and skills.In terms of impact, the aim is to increase the educational outcomes of the institution and to promote management practices regarding a medium and long term sustained impact. Basically, the professional development of the participants and consequent dissemination of new techniques, instruments and forms of operation, will widen the long-term standards.The participants will carry out the dissemination of the project to the other teachers of the school cluster, not only through the institutional structures but also through workshops.The disclosure to the educational community will be done through the school website. The Minho Valley Training Centre was established as partner to expand the scope of training.The school Board of Diretors will get in touch with the teachers' training centre of Vale do Minho in order to expand the scope of training.It will be possible to reach conclusions from the monitoring of the process and its results. These conclusions, along with the ongoing self-regulation processes, will support decision making as far as pedagogical areas of intervention are concerned, hence helping define improvement plans.
