The Geschwister – Scholl – Werkrealschule is a secondary school in Mannheim. Situated in the district of Vogelstang it can be considered a school where the implications and impacts of social developments encounter each other.This poses a challenge particularly for organising and framing a suitable school life.Along with extracurricular partners we strive and aim at creating a learning environment reinforcing the students in order to improve their future prospects by boosting their education and qualification with regard to prospective training and apprenticeship, minding their different social, mental and cultural matrixes. The project “BECOMING – STRONG - TOGETHER in Europe” proclaims the intention to enable the involved teachers to optimally adapt the learning process and education to the changes resulting from the progress in educational policy and the development of society by attending advanced training courses of high quality at European level.Moreover the participants of this project will critically reflect and enhance the implementation of the school’s guiding principles /outline on the basis of broadened horizons of experiences.The assortment of the intended advanced training and order of events will be adapted for individual needs on the one hand and requirements of school on the other hand.The participating colleagues will use their newly acquired competences to- enhance their everyday lessons- spread their experiences among the other teachers (by means of documentation, mutual sitting in on classes and internal school training)- contribute to school life (extracurricular activities, projects) - contribute to school development processes (as experts/ administration of workteams)- help counsel students as well as parentsThe project group consists of 15 colleagues (including school administration and steering group members) from different areas of studies and subjectsDuring the sitting ins on lessons all-day schools from north, south, east and west Europe will be visited in order to gain diversified insight into current developments regarding education in Europe.
