Because of its excellent reputation "Hugo-Höfler-Realschule Breisach with bilingual trace" is a very popular middle school with a big number of very different pupils attending it. In order to cope with the different learning abilities of the pupils, methodological expertise and discursive skills of the participants shall be enhanced as well as competences for bilingual tuition. 3 English teachers (who are highly motivated even during their Easter holidays 2015) will take part in a one-week immersion course in Edinburgh. They volunteer on behalf of their own didactical interest and possible schedules. The course is organised by the approved organisation LFEE Europe/Confluence Scotland.
After the training week the participants implement the new knowledge and skills in their teaching and introduce and multiply them in the English department of the school during cooperation afternoons. It is intended that both English and bilingual tuition will be imporved regarding methodoloy and didactics and discursive skills also in the context of differentiation and individualisation
and interculutral horizons.
These items shall be evaluated by self-reflection and by exchange with colleagues in the department. They can also be considered in the next external evaluation of the school. In this way the project contributes to our school development plan in a significant way. We hope to get new didactic impulses and ideas for differentiated and individualised lessons, further skills for bilingual classes and an update of the participants' diskursive skills. Additionally we hope to get linked with other European English teachers/schools. Learning English on a motivating and successful level, also in bilingual contexts, will be of great advantage for our many various pupils in regard to their professional and intercultural perspectives in United Europe.
