Erwachsenengerechtes Lehren und Lernen zukunftsfähig machen: Schulentwicklung am OSW erfolgreich gestalten
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Last year two teachers of the Ottilie-Schoenewald-Weiterbildungskolleg Bochum attended the course "How to make your school more international". One result of the course was a vision paper that was developed to promote internationalisation at school. The ideas and suggestions laid down in the vision paper were picked up by the SEG (= group for school development) and currently form the foundation to develop a long-term school policy plan on internationalisation, which will become a pillar of the future school policy plan. In the course of drafting this policy plan and against the background of changing prerequisites at schools of further education the SEG defined the current priorities for teacher training and asked the international coordinators to suggest appropriate courses. According to the four priorities defined by the SEG, Ottilie-Schoenewald-Weiterbildungskolleg wants to attend the following courses:1. "Reaching, teaching and keeping learners. Methods and approaches to reach and increase retention of at risk learners" (reducing dropout), August 20162. "Best Practice Benchmarking" (comparing European school systems, internationalisation, benchmarking), September 20163. "eLearning Made Fun": Quizzes and games" (digital media, blended learning), November 20164. "Stress management: how to prevent and manage work-related stress in schools" (teachers' health), April 2017The participants of courses 1 and 2 are chosen by the headmasters and the international coordinators. The teachers that will attend course 1 represent the lower and upper secondary level of our school. They both closely work together with the school's social workers and with students within and outside lessons. The headmistress and the international coordinator, both also representing the SEG, attend course 2. The insights gained in these courses will be used for the upcoming strategic development of the school. For taking part in courses 3 and 4 (two participants each) interested teachers can apply. However, a prerequisite is that one of the participating teachers of course 3 teaches in AbiOnline, our blended learning section. In addition to that the two participants should represent different subject areas. The application for attending course 4 is open to all colleagues. Participants of courses 3 and 4 should be willing to share the insights and competences gained with all teaching staff by offering workshops. The participants of course 1 will focus on how to reach at risk and/or disadvantaged learners participating at any level or type of education or training via different cooperative learning methods and to “keep them”, that is, increase retention. In course 2 the participants get to know other European school systems and standards against the background of recent changes. Furthermore, they have the possibility to observe teaching, studying and learning processes in classrooms at different school levels. The participants attending course 3 will be able to make use of a number of tools for creating digital games and quizzes to address the needs of their students. The participants of course 4 learn to identify the sources of work-related stress and how to prevent and cope with stressful situations. The participants will develop their international, methodological and digital competences. As multipliers they will then pass on their knowledge to the teaching staff. In addition, we hope to gain new impetus for developing the school policy plan by attending courses 1 and 2.
