CONTEXT Our students work outside the school . Their families are lack of social insurance . Per capita monthly expenditure in the family is low. All of these conditions increase the possibility of early school leaving of our students . When we made our school case detection, a training program is needed for teachers and administrators concerning the early identification of pupils under the risk of leaving school, monitoring and making required interventions. AIMS OF THE PROJECT , - to determine the students who have the possibility of leaving school early beforehead, - to take precautions about preventing early school leaving, - to establish guidance and counseling service to students who left school early, - to strengthen cooperation and communication between the school and the families , - to persuade students and their families in order for them to return to school again , - to prepare programs that aims developing aplications about students returning to school and implement these programs, - to improve proficiency of teachers about preventing earl school leaving and help them gain knowledge about contemporary systems and methods about this subject, - to minimize early school leaving by increasing the roles and efficiency of the decision makers (parents, teachers, directors etc.) - to determine the reasons of the target group who have already left the school or have the possibility of leaving school early,to gather solution-oriented ideas, evaluate them and share the results with equivalent schools, NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AND PROFILES Participants includes 2 administrators and 6 teachers. ACTIVITIES 1st : Participation in the training program :" Coaching in Educational contexts to reduce early school leaving" takes place in Italy between dates of 3-8 August 2014 . 2nd : Participation in the training program : "Energy Psychology in the classroom to reduce early school leaving " takes place in Spain between dates of 1-5 September 2014 . 3rd: Participation in the training program :" Current Issues in Education – Early School Leaving" takes place in Czech Republic between the dates of 22-26 September 2014. 4th : Participation in the training program : "How to motivate students to finalize their compulsory education. Innovative teaching and learning methods for reducing early school leaving in a lifelong learning society” takes place in Holland between dates of 19-25 October 2014 . OTHER ACTIVITIES - Organizing “Parents Info Days” , - Organizing ” Career Days" , - Training (seminars, briefings, etc.) teachers and administrators in order to ensure students’ full participation to the process of Education, - Organising parent visits to inform them by School Project Team METHODOLOGY In the first section of the project, Scanning techn will be used to state the situation. With a descriptive method, the situation will be analyzed in the first part of the research, and data will be gathered to get awareness of why some of the students leave school. Quantitative and qualitative research techniques will be applied together. Quantitative data consists of the views of the students leaving school as well as the ones of the headteacher , teachers and the parents. Within the process of research, questionnaires will be developed to get the understanding of the reasons for the early school leaving and of the qualities of those students. In addition, the questionnaires aimed to seek the views of the headteacher and the teachers about the early school leaving will be developed. School Climate Student Scale and School Atmosphere Scale will be applied to get information about the level of students’ dependence to school, the climate at school and those students’ attitudes towards headteacher -teachers support provided. Qualitative data, on the other hand, will be tried to be gathered through face to face talk. EXPECTED RESULTS AND IMPACT If the project reaches its goal, the following results and effects are expected: -Decrease in the rate of the students' early school leaving and increase in the level of the students' attendence to school , improvement in the cooperation between the school and the parents. -Coordination among the units to realize the early school leaving at an earlier stage before it comes true, -Teachers' and administrators' ability in analysing the conclusions obtained from the studies and skills about the management, -İncrease in teachers' professional sufficiency , positive change in their approach and attitude against the students under risk of early leaving. Early school leaving is not only an individual problem but also a social problem. Results of this project concern the whole society. A society consisting of those who don't leave the school early and those who keep on going school will reach a modern civilization level and be in the way of being good quality.
