The primary education school La Paloma, as a bilingual centre, is aware of its teacher´s need of training in language skills. This formation will have an impact in student´s abilities. We also realized it is important to innovate in teaching methodologies and get new tools and strategies to increase students’ motivation and prevent them from academic failure and giving up studies. At present time, our centre has 43 teachers, 13 of them with B2 level and another one with C1 level in English within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Due to this, we believe in the need of our staff formation aimed to develop and foster the learning of English as a second language Our proposal is a global formation in language teaching. Because of this, the more teachers that get involved the greater impact on the whole educational community will have, including teachers, students, parents’ association, educational institutions, etc. We would have a clear and transparent selection of 14 teachers among our staff in order to participate in the formation activities. This training would be focused on three main fields: * The improvement of language skills in English within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. * The training in new methodologies of CLIL teaching. * The formation in English teaching through ICT This formation would take place in ITC INTERNATIONAL, located in Brighton (UK). We have chosen this organization because of its wide offer of courses that fit our aims. These are the selected courses. * English for Educators - B2 * English for Educators - C1 * CLIL in the classroom * Innovative approaches to teachers The participation in this training will allow us to boost confidence in language skills and contribute to master the use of English for those teachers with advanced levels. Teachers with a lower level will have the opportunity to enhance their language competence through a complete immersion experience. The acquired learning, resources, strategies, tools, etc will have a direct effect on the teaching learning process. Not only in the subjects taught in English but also in the others subjects of the curriculum. We expect different aspects related to teaching methodology and organization will improve after putting into practice the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the formation, especially in the subjects belonging to the bilingual section. We are faced with the necessity of keeping a common methodological line that allow the whole school staff to make the most of the resources and strategies involved in the teaching learning process, with coordinated and cooperative work. We consider a formative experience like this will contribute to get bonds among all the participating teachers and unify standards after the knowledge acquired and the experience lived. And it will facilitate the development of common methodological planning in our daily work. We think this formation will give the school an added value, an European dimension, and teachers will have an opportunity of living an experience that can shared in the short and in the long term, not only with students but also with all the members of the educational community.
