TERMINÉ
The development plan of the first Model Experimental High School of Athens “Gennadeio “ is based in 9 key areas:
1. The strengthening and enhancing of digital skills of teachers through their involvement with best practices in the areas of science - technology - engineering - mathematics (STEM).
2 . The utilization of Tablets - Smartphones ( many students hold ) as tools in the learning process and connecting the school with our pan-European learning networks through mobile devices (Tablets - Smartphones - Ipads)
3 . The Learning of mathematics through the framework of ' learning by playing ' applying new methods of communication in learning mathematics , that could be fun and enjoyable and will enhance students skills in creative thinking (Le-Math project: Learning Mathematics through new communication factors).
4. Skills and knowledge of teachers to improve the classroom climate and create new incentives of learning. Improving the climate in the classroom will improve the overall climate and wellbeing at school.
5. The need for specialized training and support for teachers to link theoretical knowledge in disciplines such as history and contemporary society , according to the proclamation of the “Eurydice Network " (Development of basic skills in schools in Europe ) .
6. The growing of European awareness to students, requires the prior experience of the same teachers - especially the shaping of historical memory and consciousness is a powerful basis for a common European historical memory to future citizens.
7. The integration of the school into a wider European network, where the initiatives of each teacher will integrate into a broader framework to enhance exchanges and mobility of teachers and students, as well as the corresponding feedback.
8. Update on new opportunities arising for our school through the European program Erasmus + and the acquisition of practical skills on the organization and management programs can join the project Erasmus +.
To fulfill the above requirements we intend to participate in the following training activities and conferences:
•2 teachers of our school will attend the seminar «Future Learning with iPads and Tablets» at Helsinki . There will be educational visits to schools and show how the use of Tablets in Finnish school . Designed our school to become part of the community ' learning through mobile ' and ' inclusive learning '
• Participation of 1teacher of our school in September 2014 Robotics seminars that will take place in Cyprus . After his return, skilled teacher will spread to his colleagues and the community the expertise of the experience gained at the first seminar will deal with any project entrusted to him. At the spring of 2015 will attend the second seminar educational robotics to be held Romania and will give him the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop their skills and share their experiences from the implementation in the classroom .
• Participation of 2 teachers of history of our school at the International Training Programme EUROCLIO 2014-1015 through:
1) Participation in international educational programs for teachers of history and sociology - for 2015 is scheduled for Denmark , Belgium and Estonia .
2) Exchange of informations and good teaching practices with the network EUROCLIO involving teachers from 30 countries of Europe .
3) Participation in the school community "Historiana" to develop experimental teaching methods and projects: www.historiana.eu
• Participation in the program «European Projects design, management and funding for Erasmus Plus» Italy. The teacher will monitor the training will have a blueprint for school partnership KA2 that our school intends to organize.
• Participation in the program «Learning Mathematics through new communication factors» that will take place in France. The aim of the project "LE-MATH" is to develop a methodology in the teaching and learning of mathematics by creating two main tools that can be used by teachers. The two tools are:
1 MATHeatre: Teaching and learning mathematics through mathematical theater.
2 MATHfactor: Teaching and learning mathematics through communication activities of mathematics.
Among the organizers of the Cyprus Mathematical Society .
• Participation in the program «Group Dynamics and Social Skills in the classroom» that will take place in Italy.
After returning from the respective trainings, teachers will inform other colleagues to educate them on the new knowledge. Projects will be organized during the school year in which the new knowledge will be implemented and evaluated, the results of this application at the end of school year 2015-2016 .
