loveLife Generation was inspired by a Greek Creativity project to organize a similar programme in the UK. This led to the design and delivery of 2 multilateral exchanges exploring the themes of discrimination and identity through the arts resulting in an impressive set of learning outcomes, insights and creative expression. Young people from across 9 nation states forged friendships , respect and understanding for each other and returned to their countries with a clear sense of identity, their rights and responsibilities in contributing to a just and unified Europe. "Equality through Creativity" evolved out of this experience and is the final piece of the trilogy aiming to equip young Europeans with the knowledge, skills and attitude to understanding the concept and practice of equality in democratic structures and processes through experiential learning using the creative and performing arts. Equality through Creativity will bring together 63 participants from 9 countries consisting of a group leader and 6 young people each from diverse backgrounds, ability and lifestyles to spend 10 days at a residential education centre in the UK. They will participate in a variety of interactive Drama, Dance, Music, Film / Photography, Arts/Crafts, Fashion workshops, intercultural dialogue and experiences, team building / problem solving exercises using outdoor education and fun activities to raise and express awareness about equality in all its aspects, discuss strategies for implementation, challenging and managing inequality in democracies as young Europeans and build friendships based on mutual respect , tolerance and understanding. The key outcomes of this programme are to raise the consciousness of participants about the meaning and application of equality, appreciate the value of unity in diversity, develop their skill set to promote equality in their community and society and cement the bonds of friendship in the context of European citizenship and democratic processes. The longer term benefits of this programme is the development of peer educators and leaders who have the confidence to actively participate and promote equality in society thus contributing to building a stronger, more unified Europe in the future.
