Equal Inclusion for a Gold Future

The TC was held 21-28 October 2015 in Porto, Portugal. TC gather 30 participants + 2 trainers, 1 facilitator and 2 support staff from 10 countries: Portugal, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Latvia, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece. Social exclusion is a major social problem of our time, which has replaced the "old notions of" poverty and marginalization. Social exclusion is often a cause of poverty, conflict and insecurity. If we are to tackle it effectively, we need to recognize where is a problem, understand it better and appropriate find different ways of working with partner governments, the international community and civil society organisations to overcome it. The main theme of the training was focused on raising European awareness of the realities and possibilities for more inclusive society in the anti-discrimination youth projects with marginalised groups, against social exclusion. The idea of this project was arises to meet a need express by youth workers who work in the field of social exclusion with young people. This project was treated the phenomena of exclusion and it is a matter of necessity related by the boost of social exclusion rate among young people in the European Countries, origin by insecurity in living standards, political and social isolation, feelings of estrangement and unhealthy lifestyles, of unemployment rate among young people. With this training we were able to increase the skills and the background of the Youth workers, whom can offer opportunities to young people, to prevent and to remedy the social exclusion. The main aim was to develop the skills and knowledge of the youth workers and youth leaders and to make them more prepared to contributed social inclusion and active participation of excluded and marginalised group. Key concepts explored in our training were: inclusion versus exclusion, analyze of the social exclusion and factors which influence it, discrimination, empowerment, youth participation versus apathy behavior, active citizenship, local institutions and role of NGO-s, EU and local strategy against social exclusion, attitudes towards target groups in need, taking action. Participants learned new information, they had space for discussion, debates, sharing and learning new tools on how to facilitate the work with youngsters who suffer social exclusion. The Training course used the non-formal education methodology and was based on open and interactive approaches and directly aiming at creating a safe learning environment for the participants, environment that facilitate the development and acquisition of new skills, competencies and attitudes and thus contribute to social and personal development. After the training each participant is able to develop his own attitudes and skills and in particular the capacity to get in contact with unknown people, coming from different nations and to work in a multicultural team; to get in touch with people of different ages, backgrounds and lifestyles, to develop the ability to listen to other ideas, competences in communication, capacity to realize initiatives promoting inclusion, skills to develop a project; on the Erasmus + Program and its actions and other cultures, traditions and ways of living.
