The continuous development in many sectors highlights the need for continued and sustained modernization or updating of knowledge, skills and competencies of modern citizen in order to successfully respond to the growing demands of his personal and professional life.During the autumn semester 2015B, the 1st Public I.E.K. of Heraklion, operates 12 training specialties with 14 classes where, in collaboration with 83 instructors, 267 adult learners being trained in a variety of training areas according to the needs of the local labor market.The plan includes two flow-activities: • The attendance of a Structured Course about ECVET mobility. • The participation in a set of Study Visits to respective providers of Vocational Education and Training in the host country.The main objectives of the plan are: • The enrichment of knowledge about the European Credit Transfer System (ECVET) and the Occupational Mobility in order to improve certification and recognition of skills acquired during their studies by using the tools of the ECVET system. • The contact with relevant providers, in order to analyze the structure and operation, aiming at the study of the European Framework for Education and Training and the search for best practices and innovative methods in areas that affect the daily operation and administration of the organization. This plan’s implementation methodology includes, since the proposal is approved, the exchange of the appropriate Memoranda of Understanding between operators. After the financial and organizational management of the project will follow the agreement between the host institutions and officials of coordinators will monitor whether the mobility plan is being implemented as agreedThree individuals from the administration staff of the Institute are involved in each activity of the project, thus maximizing the benefits for the organization. The expected outcomes will be positive both for the participants and the institute, so after the end of the program: • Participants will be able to function optimally as multipliers, transmitting the results of the project to the instructors and learners. • Participants will contribute to the improvement of the administrative and organizational operation of the institute and the enhancement of the training program quality and efficiency offered to the trainees. • The abilities and attractiveness of the institute will be improved at local and international area, enhancing its reputation and extroversion. • Open communication and cooperation channels with a future perspective will be structured between the Institute and other VET institutions in Europe while reinforcing European consciousness.Finally, in order to achieve the maximum reinforcement for the Institute and transmission of new knowledge, skills and practices, specific project evaluation and dissemination of project results have been developed.
