The project is inspired by the project Envirowise in Britain. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the effort on environmental issues facing the SMEs in the region. SMEs can often not afford a special environmental effort, but they recognise the importance of environmental management. By creating a network and close cooperation between 17 municipalities in the region, the municipalities can make a joint effort for the SMEs . The municipalities shall improve their offer and service towards the SMEs on environmental management and provide the SMEs with practical measures and instruments. The project will be a unique possibility for the municipalities to exchange experience, develop their competence within this field and strenghen their dialogue with the companies.Envirowise should be able to offer better assistance on e.g. waste, energy, cleaner technology, environmental management to especially SMEs. The project will develop a number of tools and instruments for the SMEs which can help them improve their work towards a more enviromental industry.
