A general aims of the program were to explore in detail the common Hungarian-Ukrainian section of the River Tisza in terms of environment protection andriver management, to develop specific actions, and to establish a well-arrangedriverbed and flood plain as well as a nature-friendly environment. To this end, wetand dry riverbed surveys were performed, aerial photos were taken, botanical andzoological surveys and a preliminary environmental impact study were conducted inthe framework of the project along a 20 km long section of the River Tisza. A study ontourism was also produced to explore tourism opportunities in the region.
