When young Europeans define the problems themselves, it emerges that unemployment is one of their major concerns. The results of a major consultation with 11,000 young people across Europe during the 2013 Irish Presidency speak about the profound way in which unemployment affects their lives. Unemployment means more than the absence of financial resources, as it interferes with young people’s social, cultural, political and private lives. This project takes an active role in tackling youth unemployment problem and seeks to bridge the gap between the job market needs and what young people can offer by employing them with the competencies needed in the crafts/creative industries. This will be done by offering an innovative approach that is Cosplay-focused programme since it has been proved to be effective for capacity development and entrepreneurial education.Cosplay is a unique school, a perfect way to employ oneself with a variety of skills, knowledge and competences that are not only valuable in finding further occupation, but also in living in the multicultural society since it brings an unforgettable cultural cognition experience. Ultimately the aim of the project is:- to facilitate the capacity development of those interested in the Cosplay phenomenon and guide them in adapting their competences while in search for a job/occupation or starting their own business. Consequently the objectives are: - Organize a learning experience that provides young people with the skills needed in the crafts industry at large;- Through a carefully designed programme and chosen activities ensure the development of the related competencies that could ease the young people's employability, such as ability to work in groups, negotiation, time management, critical thinking among many others; - Through a facilitated interaction and success stories encourage young people for starting their own businesses/start-ups;- Raise self-esteem and encourage young people to effectively use their skills and preferences to get into employment. During 8 days full of interaction, sharing and learning 25 participants will not only participate in different workshops that provide them with relevant skills, give distinct intercultural experience, promote their creativity and entrepreneurship, but also will take part in Cosplay event which will serve as an experiential learning opportunity to be reflected and analyzed later on.There is a strong belief that participants will share of what they have learned and experienced with their local communities which will give impetus for the new ideas and initiatives locally and worldwide.Helping young people to earn a living through promoting their entrepreneurship will make a crucial contribution to poverty reduction and will promote sustainable growth.
