Energy Generation
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Energy Generation was a project created to invite young people to reflect on the topic of energy. It focuses not only on the world energy resources and how to manage them responsibly, efficiently and sustainably, but also on energy resources of our own bodies, interlinking these two concepts to create a personal connection to one of the world´s most pressing environmental issues. The project took place in the vibrant city of Terrassa, from 1 to 9 of july, 30 youngsters participated, from 6 European countries; Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia and Spain. During the days of the project, the participants shared and exchanged their experiences and thoughts on the concepts such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, responsible energy use and energy saving. They had the chance to discover the energy reserves of their own and to learn how to use their inner energy wisely through leisure activities. The project provided knowledge on the topic of renewable energies and energy efficiency, and provided instruments to tackle the issue of unsustainable energy, to empower the youngsters to act locally to solve the global problem of unsustainable energy, and thus encourage the active participation of young people in society. As well as they had opportunity to discover the job and entrepreneurial possibilities on that sector. Among other activities, there where thematic energizers (connected to different types of renewable energies) and regular yoga, several DIY (Do it yourself) sessions, where participants created objects connected to the topic of the exchange (solar oven construction and cooking session, wind turbine prototype creation, costumes made of trash, etc.) The project helped to create a group of active European citizens, change agents, who perceive the problems that our planet faces as their own problems, who are aware of the issues that our society is facing and who, while thinking globally, apply concrete actions to reverse the negative trends.
