EYE (Enact Youth Education!) is a youth project within the frame of ERASMUS+ Programme/Key Action 1 in which a consortium of 5 NGOs for Romania (hosting country), Turkey, FYROM, Spain and Portugal (sending countries) will organize 3 learning mobilities under the thematic umbrella of volunteering & nonformal education for visually impaired people. These mobilities, which address real needs identified in the local communities of EYE promoters, are the following:
M1 (1/09/2015-1/02/2016) & M2 (1/02/2016-1/07/2016): Two European Voluntary Services of 5 months each to be carried out by 2 series of 8 EVS volunteers (16 altogether), in the City of Arad, Romania. With the support of SOs/HO/CO, the EVS volunteers will prepare, organize, coordinate, evaluate and promote the following categories of nonformal activities:
1.LUDOTHEQUE (social games/toys adapted for the visually impaired)
2.ARTISTIC/CIVIC WORKSHOPS (dance, experimental music, clay/plasticine modeling, civic initiatives, awareness campaign)
3. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES in ‘Lunca Muresului’ Natural Park
4. NONFORMAL JOURNALISM
The objectives of these 2 mobilities comply with the EVS principle envisaging: a) the development/improvement of those transversal competences, among the EVS volunteers, associated with a rapid transition towards employability and medium/long term active citizenship; b) the increase/diversification of personal development/ integration/ active participation opportunities for a minimum of 25 visually impaired youngsters/children within ‘Sfanta Maria’ Special High School.
M3 (15-21 September 2016): ‘Training Course aimed at 20 youth workers who will develop those transversal competences necessary for the effective use of nonformal education in the integration of visually impaired/blind youngsters’. During this preparation course the participants will be transferred ‘know-how’ type of resources in order to address the needs of the target group from their communities. The learning methods will include: simulations, roleplay, awareness exercises, team work, nonformal presentations, the elaboration of educational materials, short study visit, etc. The results of the training course will be disseminated and exploited through a DEOR campaign, and towards a bigger capacity of the partener organisations to initiate, engage in and promote nonformal measures of socio-professional integration of visually impaired/blind youngsters.
