eMULTIPOETRY

The project proposes a theoretical and practical framework for providing a co-operativeLanguage Lifelong Learning ICT methodology to teachers, educational institutions andto policy makers.The project attempts to inspire Europeans toward extending their language skills by wayof international communication and exchange with the application of innovativemultimedia and an ICT-based methodology. The authors of the project assume that, inthe modern society, poetry has lost some of its specific force and vigour that carriedhumanity across civilization. The eMULTIPOETRY project applies an innovativeapproach for introducing multilingual poetry in a way that could widely appeal to youngpeople in Europe.The project aims to design a techno-pedagogical environment for extending knowledgeon languages and modern poetry through the co-operative translating, composing andinternational multimedia presentations of poems based on existing methods such asCLIM – Collaborative education, as well as CLIL - Content and Language IntegratedLearning.The project will create a European digital collection of modern poetry on an on-lineplatform “eMULTIPOETRY”, accessible free of charge to all, from every personalcomputer.In order to ensure the popularisation of the multilingual poetry, the project includesinnovative multimedia digital presentation of the work on walls of some selectedbuildings in European cities.Pedagogical approach:- Co-operative learning of teachers, students and life-long learning participants- Professional development of individual teachers and students (groups working at theinternational level)- Multidisciplinary intelligence – the project urges a fruitful mixing and joining of theinterdisciplinary skills of the participants (educational institutions, Internet applicationsand software developers, theatre and music groups, radio and TV stations, video gamesdesigners)- Individual teachers and participants are inspired to change the spectrum of theirinterests from the local and regional, to the European.The eMULTIPOETRY project is realised through close cooperation between:- the Jagiellonian University- The UNESCO Chair for Translation Studies- Department of Philology, University of Tel Aviv,- Ludvig Boltzmann Institut Vienna,- Slovak Academy of Science,- Iceland University, Reykjavik- Sakarya University, Turkey.
