Background and purpose: within our organisation we want to translate the concept of Internationalization in a practical way. We also want to make a start with the awareness process of directors and teachers concerning the interpretation of world citizenship. Number of participants in the Conference: 4. These are directors of schools within the organisation and the General Director.Total number of persons within the organisation that wil work with internationalization: 345. These are directors and teachers.Chosen strategy: a working group takes knowledge and submit (International) contacts. The Working Group shares the knowledge with others within the organisation. The policy of our organisation is tightened on the basis of the acquired knowledge. The knowledge gained is translated into appointments and has a practical impact on the schools. The agreements are implemented and evaluated. Activities: visiting a International Conference; acquire knowledge on the role of the teacher in the future; establish contacts with schools and networks; knowledge transfer within the organisation; agreements relating to internationalization deploy to the schools of our organisation; knowledge dissemination to external organisations; stimulating cooperation with external organisations.Short term benifits:- the working group provides directors and teachers an insight into the new skills and give them handles to tutor the pupils to become world citizens;- contacts with schools and networks inside and outside the Netherlands. Longer term benifits:-teachers are so skilled that they can tutor the important aspects of global citizenship to the pupils. As a result, ' the horizon ' of these students widened and they can acquire a place in this rapidly changing world;- the curriculum at the schools is adapted to the requirements of the time;- there arise more and more partnerships with other schools and networks, in- and outsight the Netherlands (This happens on all levels: directors, teachers and pupils);- the executive policy in the field of Internationalization is becoming more clearly defined;- there is at least one Unesco school in the organisation.
