The youth exchange project ‘Empowering for Change' will take place in Vilanova i la Geltrú ( Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), from 2nd to 10th August 2016. It’s a trilateral youth exchange, organized by the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària in partnership with the NGO European Association World at Our Home from Rezekne (Latvia) and the NGO United Societies of Balkans, from Thessaloniki (Greece).It comes as a response to the young people’s needs in terms of developing their competences and talents in a difficult and uncertain context they face.Activities will be implemented by a group 21 young people between 18-25 years old, 15 of them being young people with few opportunities. Its main objective is to create a safe an interactive space where to experience non formal and intercultural learning methods that useful to improve relevant competences identified by participants themselves.It will empower them to be more aware about their unique perceptions, ways of doing, communicating, thinking and learning. Specific objective is to help participants to reflect on how relevant is to learn how to learn and to learn how to change.Exchange will increase understanding about the value of self knowledge, communication, self expression and thinking as sources of learning. . It will also promote cooperation and solidarity among young people at European level.Participants will learn and practice techniques to work on personal weaknesses, play with personal strengths; manage time, priorities and both inner and external resources and rediscover the joy of play and exchangeThe activities will be built on non-formal and intercultural learning methodology and will include presentations, open discussions, exercises, peer to peer communication, games, etc.
