“EmploYouth 2011” is a 7-days training course (TC) in audio-video production and video activism, which will take place in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia, in September 2011, with 24 participants from 10 different countries. This project seeks to address three major topics: youth unemployment, poverty and social exclusion, and to present and explore possibilities of addressing these issues in the form of video work, and video activism. Our main, long-term objective is• To raise overall public awareness on the problem of youth unemployment, poverty and social exclusion. Our specific aims are:• Providing a platform for creative intercultural exchange on the topics of youth unemployment, poverty and social exclusion, and confronting different local (national) perspectives and specific local problems.• Encouraging youth participation, especially video activism and utilization of new technology and open-source software in youth work.• Promotion of volunteering as a way of active social participation, and a way to acquire knowledge and skills useful for persons' professional development. Provisionally, project will be carried out in the three subsequent stages. First stage involves the process of selection and preliminary communication with the participants, and creating a web-platform for communication and exchange. Second stage represents the central event, the training course on audio–video production and activism. Third stage represents a evaluation and a follow-up of the project.
