EMMAE14 - Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia East 2014
Date du début: 15 juil. 2013,

Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia-E14 is an exchange programme for students and staff between 7 European and 10 Asian Universities. The grantees are selected in 3 cohorts. The online application period for the 1st cohort is Nov.-Dec. 2013; 38 EU and Asian staff and 15 doctorates are selected in Jan. 2014. The 2nd cohort with 75 Asian students and 6 postdocs is selected in Dec. 2014. The 3rd cohort with 35 EU students, 14 postdocs and 8 Asian students from vulnerable groups will be selected in Dec. 2015.At the kick-off meeting in Da Nang in Oct. 2013, the assembly of representatives elects the Board of Directors (BoD) in charge of final candidate selection, and the Monitoring Board headed by the co-coordinator UD to follow up the progress of grantees when abroad.A 2nd meeting in Cottbus in May 2015 sets up specific tasks for disseminating results and for developing sustainable exchanges: teaching in collaboration with companies, joint educational programmes, bilateral MoU, e-learning.Prior to each application campaign, the partners prepare Mobility Offers (MOs) tailored for training needs on one side (either Asia/EU), and which can be met by offers from the other, covering a range of themes emphasizing Science and Technology. Particularly encouraged Mos are the ones that combine attendance at regular courses with Project Work (PW), consisting of teamwork between EU and Asian students at and under the supervision of the host university on an industrial problem. The 3 selection processes consist in online applications, online home+host evaluation, and final selection by the BoD. Special care is given to disabled and economically disadvantaged applicants. Selection follows a planned mobility roster (levels, countries), and respects partner and gender balances. Through discussion at the two meetings and promotion of some dedicated MOs, the partnership will address the question of HE costs and study how to seek full transparency in HE.
