ELAV (Elava Linna Aja Vool)
Date du début: 1 août 2010,

The project Elava Linna Aja Vool (ELAV) is the second of 3 parts of our 3-year project Old Spaces Living Art (OSLA). The objective of the OSLA Project is to give new life and energy to historical places of Tallinn by young artists' contemporary dance, history and new media (music and video art) projects and activities focused on school children. The first part of OSLA included research of the material, encounters with our partners from Turku and making 6 short dance films portraying differents eras in the city life of Tallinn. The aim of the second part ELAV is to engage school children by involving them in an unformal learning process in the form of 4 dance and media workshops and a dance performance. Approximately 100 school children are expected to take part in the workshops lead by about 10 young artists. A preparatory city camp will be organized for the artists in August 2010 to prepare them for leading the workshops, which will take place during the 4 school holidays of the 2010-2011 school year. The final result of the workshops will be improvisational performances on the streets of Tallinn in June 2011 (based on the material worked on in the workshops). In the third part of the project OSLA, a big open-air performance by professional dancers and other artists will be produced as a sum-up of all the preceding activities.
