Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Welsh Government has introduced a ‘new deal’ for teachers requiring teachers to identify training which offers maximum impact and invites collaboration between professionals. This collaborative project fully meets these priorities. Schools are required to develop a sustained programme of professional learning which should be developed to ensure that staff are fully prepared to meet the demands of the new curriculum and o prepare pupils for improvements in PISA results. Wales is behind UK and European partners and the education minister wants Wales to meet the challenge and meet the needs of 2st century Europe. This application identifies a structured programme of learning for teaching staff supporting the priorities highlighted by the education minister. As a result of this project we aim to improve teachers’ competences in order that they might directly contribute to the improvement of life chances and raising achievement by all pupils. The European Local Authority Nework (ELAN) established by Cardiff Council with partners across Europe has collaboratively produced a suite of courses to share with professionals in their respective regions. The 4 identified courses for teaching staff in Wales are:1. COPE-Community Parent Education Programme in Sweden2. Inclusive education in Bavarian schools in Germany3. Mathematics to Go in Poland4. Active Use of Technology in The Classroom in Turkey26 headteachers and teachers from 7 schools will participate in the above courses and work collaboratively locally to improve teaching, learning across schools and improve parental engagement. The planned training will develop teacher competences, provide training in methodology and help staff develop strategies for raising achievement. By tackling these crucial areas in our schools we can improve quality teaching and learning thus raising standards amongst pupils. Working together consortium members will visit different areas in Europe then come together in a series of feedback meetings to share experiences and support each other in future development. A multiplier event will be held at the end of the year encouraging widening participation amongst schools across Wales.
