El Ratatouille

El Ratatouille is an EVS Project involving 11 partners and 7 EVS group activities: 2 in Peru, 1 in Italy, 1 in Mexico, 1 in Romania,1 in Bolivia and 1 in Nepal. In total it involves 30 vols, 24 from Programme Countries and 6 from Other Partner Countries, of which several with fewer opportunities. The services will be implemented from 01/2014 till 04/2015.The theme of the project are children and youth policies.The objectives are to offer the vols an intercultural experience and a unique opportunity of discovering diverse realities of social disadvantage with special attention on children and youth. Vols will acquire skills and knowledge regarding challenges of social disadvantage and marginalisation of children and youth, various pedagogical approaches applied and various local policies developed. Vols will be carrying out activities that will benefit mostly disadvantaged children and youth, their communities and the volunteers themselves. The activities will vary. The services in Peru are split between 2 partners: 2 groups of 4 vols (ES, IT and FR) will work for 6 months with children forced to work to support their families. Another group of 2 vols from FR and IT will work for the benefit of disabled children. Volunteers activities: homework assistance, accompanying to schools, organising leisure activities and assisting in various workshops.The service in Italy (4 vols from MX, RO, BR and SP for 7 months in 2 shifts) and Romania (1 MX, 1 BR for 8 months) will regard NFL, work for social inclusion and European awareness activities for youth and children. In Bolivia 2 vols from Italy will work 12 months with young girls at risk or victims of sexual abuse or juvenile prostitution. In Mexico 4 vols (2 IT, 2 RO) will work 12 months with disabled children, street children, and on educational activities at a botanical garden. In Nepal 8 vols (4 IT, 2 ES, 2 FR) will work in two shifts for 5 months to provide support to orphans and homeless children.
