Our Project is based in the area of adult distance learning and education within the state education context. Our objective would be to study and find out about how adult education system works in Italy with particular interest in the on-line field. We would like to look at models which may help us to: reduce the number of students who leave the education system early; look at models which would help us motivate students; and look at strategies we can implement in order to help maintain our students in the system.The participants in the project will be two teachers from the Communication department from the secondary school system. Each teacher is experienced in both the classroom and the virtual classroom. All of the teachers have English level B2.The activities within the project will be organised in three phases. Firstly, an initial phase in which the team will create a work group with three separate goals: collect information about the Finnish education system, improve the English level of the participants prior to the visit and canvas the other members of teaching staff for questions they have related to this field.Secondly, the team would go to Finland. In the third phase the team would organise a session of actualisation of methodology (SAM) in which the team would share their experiences with the other members of staff in the claustre. The objective of this phase is to consider and implement new or interesting ways of preventing students leaving the education system too early. In this final phase we will also work to maintain and reinforce the links and relationships made during our visit.In so doing, this would allow us to organise a future K2 project.The methodology used during this project will be collaborative and we will define a set of indicators by which we will be able to do the assessment of the project.We expect to achieve two main results. Firstly,on one hand, reduce the percentage of students who abandon their studies within our school. And secondly, on the other hand, create links with other European institutions working within our field in order to encourage the exchange of ideas and mutual learning.
