EKOenergy 2 the UK
Date du début: 1 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 28 févr. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

EKOenergy is a network of European NGOs focussing on the promotion of renewable electricity. To help consumers choose climate-friendly and nature-friendly electricity, we developed the EKOenergy ecolabel (we don’t sell electricity ourselves). The criteria of our ecolabel are based on consultations with hundreds of key stakeholders and they are widely accepted. We started in 2013 and are now gradually spreading over Europe. Last year, we have made big steps forward (See www.ekoenergy.org > annual report 2014). A lot of this progress happened thanks to the active participation of volunteers, in particular EVS volunteers based at the EKOenergy Secretariat. This new project is a follow up of several earlier EVS projects. - We want to intensify our contacts with British and Irish stakeholders. The British renewable electricity market works different from the market in most of the other European countries. But there is a pressure for harmonization, e.g. via international standards as Greenhouse Gas Protocol.- English is the 'lingua franca' within the EKOenergy network. The original version of most of our documents is in English. A native English speaker can help us to improve (correct) our main texts. Besides, the volunteer will get opportunities to participate in other activities of the Finnish Association of Nature Conservation in order to get opportunities to differentiate the experiences and to get to know different (young) people. The volunteers are embedded in the EKOenergy team (which is a part of the Environment Protection Department of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation).
