Ein Praktikum in der EU: Berufliche Mobilität erleben.
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Having applied for the new Erasmus+ project, Paul-Julius-Reuter-Berufskolleg is going to send out again vocational students and trainees to foreign companies lasting from two to eight weeks.Work placements abroad are not only designed for students becoming commercial assistants but also for students of the dual training system. There are three types of practical training abroad: The aim of our three-week euregio-competence training is to get an insight into foreign companies in Belgium and the Netherlands. Through an individual work placement lasting from 2 – 4 weeks, our trainees gain work experience. Through a work placement of 8 weeks our vocational students put themselves forward for the foreign labour market . Especially countries like Belgium, Finland, France, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom have enjoyed great popularity among our students in recent years. The fields include for example trade and tourism (Belgium), trade and industrie (Finland), publishing (Malta, Romania), production (Turkey) and many more. The students first have to prepare for their work placement abroad regarding language and intercultural competences in order to orientate themselves in a foreign country. In the euregio-competence training Paul-Julius-Reuter-Berufskolleg makes intense efforts to support the students (for example to help them find an internship, appropriate accommodation, accompanying them to the company). Regarding the other internships, our students are only given advice on their work placement and are accompanied in order to foster their individual initiative.Apart from the intensive language training in different languages such as Dutch, English, Russian, Spanish and Turkish the intercultural preparation takes place in foreign language lessons, often given by a native speaker. The participants are prepared for their work placement abroad with special focus on intercultural differences, communication training and simulations. The activities of the internship include business and administration, especially customer care, procurement and sales / marketing as well as administration / human resources. Some students even get an insight into production whereas here, too, the fields of trade and customer care are predominant.Last year’s results proved to be very positive: the students are able to communicate in a foreign language and are very interested in cultural differences. They make use of their theoretical and practical knowledge and work on their own. They return from their work placement with pride and motivation and even some of the students have been offered a job after their practical training. All our students benefit from the euregio-competence certificate and/or the europass mobility to move forward in their professional live.We would like to thank all the companies taking on our trainees/students for their commitment, their willingness to ensure focused training and for all the numerous administrative activities related to the work placements.
