Background of project:
Momentarily there are two big fields at our school which need being advanced. For once there has been expanded school administration in the headmaster's team from the beginning of schoolyear 2014/15 on, secondly there is a lack of integration of digital learning in lessons at our school.
Aims of project:
On the one hand side we want to have the members of the expanded school administration team professionalised as far as responsibility for staff is concerned by advanced vocational training in the fields of leadership of staff, conflict settlement, crisis management and personality development (strengthening of the vocational image of the teaching profession, here as far as leadership is concerned.) On the other hand side we want teachers, who are interested in it, to experience more integration of digital learning in lessons and so to advance it at our school.
Number and profile of participants:
As far as leadership is concerned we want each of the six members of the expanded school administration team to take part in one advanced vocational training course accordingly. Another six teachers will take part in advanced vocational training courses for integration of digital learning.
Attending structural courses (advanced vocational training courses) in foreign European countries.
Methods of implementation:
The advanced vocational training project EFBS (European advanced vocational training plan for teacher's staff at Wittelsbacher-Realschule) will be being introduced at our institution. Then applications will follow. After that, and when the participants will have been chosen, their participation in advanced vocational training courses will be made obligatory for them and they will receive a list of tasks for preparation. At the same time school administration will enrole them and book their journeys. After completion of the advanced vocational training measures the administration of the school will fulfill all organisational tasks. The participants will hand in their reports and offer information courses to other colleagues on their side or rather both use and test the insights they have gained from the leadership training courses on the teachers they are in charge of in direct interaction. After some time of teaching this will be being evaluated. Improvement of the quality of teaching will be expected then. The applicant for this project will also be the leader in charge.
Description of the results and effects being strived for and the long-term benefit to be expected:
The experiences made by the participants during their stays abroad will provide ideas for new methods, which will also have a motivating effect on the pupils of our school. The teachers will return with a plus of expert knowledge, so that their teaching qualities will be improved or rather will be able to lead their colleagues in a more professional and satisfactory way. Moreover it is our objective to gain awareness of as well as insight in foreign cultures and working methods at institutions abroad. This understanding is to be put to practice and included in our school's development plan. In that way the advanced vocational training courses will find their way into the teaching concept of the Wittelsbacher Realschule and leave a lasting influence.
In connection with this there will not only be an increase of our teacher's competences in using ICT effeciently but also extension of international projects in their subjects as well as interdisciplinarily. Additionally we expect them to become more open to new methods of teaching and setting up long-term exchange activities with colleagues from abroad to develop international projects.
