Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 déc. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The development plan of Kolymvari Junior High School about four learning mobilities of teachers on the thematic fields of Environment and Climate Change, Creativity and Culture, and Teaching and Learning of Foreign Languages, was developed according to the learner-centered theory of teaching and according to the view that the teachers have the initiative to enrich the content and methods of teaching, as well as the responsibility to foster changes that respond to the challenges of our time. We believe that the mobility of Greek teachers is an essential motive in order to support the role of Greece as a full and equal member, in position to promote the aims of the European Union in the fields of Education, Environmental Sustainability, European Cultural Heritage and Intercultural Issues. One of the basic components of our plan is to maximize the European Added Value of our school and to promote active European Citizenship in our teachers. In addition, we took into account our participants’ need for lifelong learning, quality improvement of their teaching approaches on outdoor and foreign language education, broadening of their intercultural horizon, motivation at work and self-confidence. The learning mobilities will take place within 16 months, so that we can apply the learning outcomes, evaluate and share them, thus ensuring the success and sustainability of our plan in the long run.The aim of our plan is to promote outdoor education and develop English language skills to our students, connecting, in this way, the teaching in our school with the environmental-cultural profile and socioeconomic needs of the touristic local community. The objectives of our plan are the development of professional skills of our teachers, the employment of new learning tools, the deeper understanding and exchange of good practices in different European education systems, the improvement of foreign language and digital skills and the broadening of their socio-cultural horizon. The participants are effective educators, with deep knowledge of their subject area and teaching adequacy and they are willing to improve their methods within the framework of lifelong learning. They are aware of their students’ needs, they are flexible in dealing with everyday problems and they are hard-working. There is experience in the implementation of European programmes and they share a common dream for quality improvement of Kolymvari Junior High School. They are conscientious and willing to create a positive atmosphere for cooperation and teamwork during the project. The main activities are training courses in the thematic fields of Creativity and Culture, Teaching and Learning of Foreign Languages and Environment and Climate Change, in Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Iceland, creating an ambitious and long route from the Mediterranean to the North Atlantic Ocean. The training methodology is based on adult education approaches, it emphasizes on the teaching itself, it gives the trainee the opportunity for reflection and constructive knowledge, and, finally, makes use of the distance learning practices to create groups of European teachers who share common interests. The expected results of our plan are the professional development of not only the participants but of the whole board of teachers in our school, the promotion of cultural awareness, the skill for modernization and internationalization, the motivation and satisfaction at work. The impact of our plan on Kolymvari Junior High School as a whole will be a more dynamic working environment, a school that will be ready to incorporate good practices on the aforementioned thematic fields taking into consideration students’ needs. Our school will be able to operate at a European and international level. In the long run, we aspire that the gained European Added Value will trigger changes in terms of international opening through Erasmus+ strategic partnerships with schools for the benefit of our students. Finally, we believe that our project will increase our school’s good reputation in the local and broader community.
