Effective Communication for YOUth Employability

The training addresses 32 participants’ need to develop their communicative competences and to multiply the project’s outcomes within their local communities. The main target group is composed of professionals, volunteer youth workers or trainers, all working in the youth sector. Participants’ countries are the following: Romania, Armenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Macedonia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Cyprus, Estonia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal. All participant will be +18, already active on the youth field, some of them facing geographical or economic obstacles. By using interactive and non-formal methods, the participants will become highly involved in the project and will be able to develop their own communication skills and practical knowledge. The training working principles are based on experiential pedagogy. Moreover, they will be motivated to continue sharing the knowledge afterwards in their home country and within their own organization. Main objectives are: Enable participants to facilitate an effective communication of youth based on the real-life situations linked with employability issues; - Develop intra-personal communication skills for bringing self-development and self-esteem as vital elements of success in personal and professional life. -Use their interpersonal communicational skills, as the most important tool for working with young people, by developing questioning, active listening, constructive feedback, and understanding body language. - Manage youth group dynamics, public speaking, presentation, communication through social media, as important element of working with groups of young people. - Use communication skills and tools in youth work, particularly in the fields of conflict management, stress management, feedback - Share best practices of the participants and plan future projects Evaluation -Daily reflection groups meetings, mid-term/final evaluation -Debriefing each workshop/session -Feedback from the National Agency and the organization After the training course, each partner will promote the project (the aim, objectives, activities and results of the project) with their members and the result will be published in local newspapers. The participants will share their experience with the other local NGOs, representatives of local authorities and other stakeholders in order to support local youth on the labour market and to diminish the number of young people not having a job. The partner NGO’s, after the training course will be enriched with the necessary competences to organize local workshops, programs on communication skills such as CV/motivation writing, public speaking, assertiveness, conflict handling etc. The resources used in the dissemination activities are varied: -human (trainers, participants) -online instruments, Facebook, web pages, blog -materials (PPT presentations, photos) -media (press releases, interviews, newspaper articles) The long term benefit of the training will be easily visible: Participants will not only acquire professional communication skills but will be enabled to disseminate the results by organizing local workshops for youth facing with unemployability. The project responds to the challenge that more and more young people face with not having a job. Organizers expect more youth in the future to return in labour market and NGOs working with youth, enriched by best practices, new tools to support young people, planning new projects. The partners and organizers wish is to continue with this training and extend its positive effect on other NGOs and to build up a well-working network of professionals, supporting youth.
