The volunteer's main mission will be to co-organise and take part in activities dealing with EU Citizenship, EU awareness and Democracy. Friendly and playful, those activities bring together young people and less young people to discuss and debate on European issues. These activities around citizenship and mobility within the European Union will be held especially in Caen and its suburbs, in different neighbourhoods, and to a lower extent in other parts of the region, in urban and rural areas, in schools, associations and local authorities. Relevant and appropriate activities for young people on European citizenship will contribute to strengthen their knowledge about the European Union and its work and their interest in the European construction and the European values. Similarly, the volunteer will help to prepare events such as Europe Day on 9th May, "Caen international" in November, and other cultural or festive events promoting Europe to the public. In partnership with organisations supporting employment, the volunteer will meet groups of young people in social and professional integration, in order to present the European programmes available to them, to make them discover her/his country and her/his culture, and to inform them of her/his experience as a volunteer. 2015 will be a year to promote development among citizens of the EU. The volunteer will be involved in an initiative of which the goal is to make young people with disabilities meet "ordinary" young people on the theme of international solidarity. This project could help the volunteer to develop sustainable habits and learn about citizen initiatives. In this way, to benefit from the help of a European volunteer in this project takes on a considerable advantage. Indeed, her/his European exchange experience is consistent with the project of the House of Europe and consolidate the promotion of European citizenship and mobility through concrete and practical examples by the volunteer herself/himself.
