Educating Youth To Non-Violent Conflict Resolution
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Peer mediation has been largely promoted the past years as a tool to "pacify" climate schools and to involve pupils in their school life. This tool has been created with the idea of being implemented on a long time frame and within formal education structures. This seminar aims at questioning whether this idea of "peer mediation" can be adapted to non-formal education (and on a shorter timeframe). What are the relations between youth and youth workers in the non-violent conflict resolution process ? How can youth workers promote the active participation of youngsters in resolving conflicts happening on youth exchanges, youth camp, ...? Participants from the five partner organisations will exchange their practices and methods so as to start building a common European approach. They will work on drafting a "European Charter on educating to non-violent conflict resolution", stating the fundamental principles on which they agree. They will also identify new forms of intervention that could be experimented or trainings to organize in the future, as part of a European network of youth workers for an education to non-violent conflict resolution.
