The „Education Without Walls – We like it outdoor!" project was born as a result of the desire for progress and development of the the Extended Program Kindergarten no. 13 team.The institution’s needs and the problems we face were analized and an European Development Plan has been drafted, which would help provide the developement of the offered educational services and the improvement of the learning outcomes and also increase the attractiveness, credibility and visibility of the institution. Thereby, we decided to act in order to solve the need for developing the teachers’ competences, skills and attitudes, required for the outdoor activities and the application of the outdoor methods. The purpose of the project is to increase the frequency of these outdoor activities carried out in our kindergarten and it will be obtained through the achievement of the project objectives:1. The development of the kindergarten teachers’ competencies necessary for developing the outdoor activities, achieved by participating in specific international training;2. To increase the motivation of the kindergarten teachers for organising outdoor activities by participating in job shadowing activity and further multiplication and dissemination of information;3. To increase the awareness of the benefits and importance of outdoor activities by the parents of children in kindergarten through the participation in workshops and at least two common outdoor activities;4. The development of partnerships and international collaborations by the Extended Program Kindergarten no. 13, Iasi through the involvement in activities and experience exchanges with international participation. We intend to achieve this by organizing three major activities that will involve 12 teachers in our kindergarten chosen after a transparent selection process. The first activity will be held in October,2016, when a group of four teachers from our kindergarten will participate in the "Outdoor learning by real experience"course in Spain, organized by M & M ProFuture Training S.L., for a time period of 5 days. During this training, the participants will improve their skills and abilities to connect the teaching-learning activities with the natural environment and transfer them to daily school activities. By attending this course, we want the teachers to be aware of the outdoor education benefits and the possibilities that nature offers as a learning resource. The second activity will take place in November 2016, when another group of four kindergarten teachers will participate in a job shadowing activity in Turkey, lasting five days. Thus the participants will have a stronger motivation for carrying out activities in nature and will acquire practical competencies for applying innovative teaching, learning and evaluation methods. The third activity will consist of four other teachers in our kindergarten participating in the "Outdoor education" training course in Portugal in April 2017,organized by Edu2Grow Association. Within the 9 days of the training course, participants will develop the ability to include outdoor education and non-formal education methods in formal education. For a smooth running of the project, we assigned specific roles in the project team (the logistics responsible, the responsible for communication, the management/ Marketing/ IT team, etc.), according with everyone's skills and knowledge. The project includes relevant measures to have a multiplier effect in time and a sustenabil impact on professional and personal development of participants, on the participating organizations, on children, parents and the community. On the short and medium term, the project will have an impact over the development of teachers’ competencies, skills and attitudes necessary for the outdoor methods application and use of other innovative methods of teaching. They will be able to increase their motivation and awareness of the outdoor education importance and benefits and they will have the opportunity to train and practice their language skills. This project will influence the improvment of the educational services, the increasing of the quality of learning outcomes, and of the attractiveness, credibility and visibility of the participating institutions, the promoting of the countries where the organisations involved in the project come from, etc. In the long term, the development of this project will help to increase children's interest towards school activities, to decrease sedentariness in preschool children, chronic fatigue, obesity and anxiety, to reduce the number of children with integration difficulties, will help to a better involvement of the parents in supporting their children's education and school institutions, to increase confidence in the EU structures, etc.
