Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The technological advancement of the last century was nothing compared to the success the EU project which started as European Economic Community in 1958 with six countries which has over the years metamorphosed into European Union of 28 Countries and this political platform has been accorded the needed recognition. The European Union has been a beacon of peace, justice, equality and economic emancipation among many other things to the world.Enemy states are now friends and sits at the same table of development and human emancipation.Free movement of people in Europe has been a tool to drive a more inclusive Europe is under serious threat. The great achievements of European Union which has and is still encouraging so many countries on the by stand to join the union or aspire to join the union. The changes experienced in member states as a result of being in EU have created excitements and despair at the same time and political leaders are playing to fears of citizens in some countries both real and imagined threats. We have seen rhetoric’s from national leaders and political figures which has blurred the real political debate about Europe. The training project was able to engage young people at this moment and time in history on the merit and demerits of European Union both as economic and social inclusion mechanism. It was established during the course of the training that the first wave of integration was largely driven by need for economic integration without adequate regard or understanding of what human and cultural integration would look like. There has been claims and counter claims on the benefit of European integration. The participants agreed that Europe has come very far in defeating extreme nationalism, fundamentalism, discrimination and xenophobia but the current economic crises re-introduced imaginary segregation that is currently defining people based on their nationality and economic GDP.There was a resounding affirmation that No European citizen or aspiring European citizens should be allowed to suffer any form of discrimination in the exercise of her freedom and pursuit of happiness as a result of her national economic GDP or monetary contribution to the Union. There was consensus that if these kinds of issues are not nipped in the bud, it risks the creation of a two parallel Europe. European citizens of rich countries with full benefits and privileges and citizen of poor European countries with limited benefits and restrictions with a set of conditions they must constantly meet to access benefits within the Union. It was noted that there are tendencies of reacting to situations and circumstances of frustrations and pressure rather than responding through improved capacities and soft skills that will make young people steady under pressure and Increase the crisis and conflict carrying capacities. Participants noted that young people can confront challenging situations through new thinking and new approaches to difficulties. Project Objectives -The project trained 30 youth workers, youth leaders in specific transformational skills e.g team building and team leading skills which will enable them to leverage diversity in a multicultural workspace. - Youth workers and young people were training in social entrepreneurship project and Europe 2020 vision and target -Youth workers and young people were trained on skills for multicultural engagement and dialogue -The training staired young people away from Xenophobic tendencies -The project trained youth workers and young people on non-violent skills -Youth workers and youth leaders were trained the fundamental principles of creators who takes the advantages of bad situations to create new better opportunities -The project trained youth workers and young people on wellbeing promotion - The training empowered youth workers and youth leaders on how to contribute to policy processes around youth unemployment across Europe. The partner countries selected included Poland, Norway, Italy Portugal and Spain and U.K, These were countries going through major austerity measures and young people are in hourly despair and venting their angers through diverse means at the same time. The diverse nature of countries chosen fed into the training methods and its enrichments. The training was facilitated through Non-formal experiential approach to learning. Young people were supported to be masters of their own learning. This approaches were combined with participatory methods. Young people during the course of the training learnt how to take responsibilities and not only blame their problems on Europe's integration. Participants also understood how to measure vulnerability and skills that can enhance career prospects. After the training course, it was evident that no young persons coming out of the training could be swayed by the argument that their economic problems were as a result of European migration or integration which was a major archievement.
