EcoNet. Developing the environment cross-border infrastructure in order to respect the EU’s environment laws (EcoNet)

The general objective of this project is to enhance the local public services quality and to improve the cooperation between Romanian and Hungarian local public authorities, in order to find common solutions for the improvement of public utility services, in line with the European laws on environment protection. The project aims at strengthening the already existing relationship between the three local authorities and to initiate their cooperation in the field of public utility services. This process, on one hand, is expected to multiply the cross-border inter-institutional relationships; and to increase local involvement in the decision making processes, as well as the quality of life and environment in general. On the other hand, cooperation will help the authorities to avoid possible cross-border contaminations, through the improvement of the sewer systems from Moftin & Csengerujfalu-Ura localities.The main activities of this project are: investments and construction works, cross-border events and meetings (seminar in Moftin, three public debates).The target group is formed by all the citizens who are living in Csengerujfallu (917 persons), Ura (756 persons) and Moftinu Mic (1219 persons) – approximately 2892 persons, the existing or possible economical investors form the area, the socio cultural institution from the area: schools, kindergardens, medical units, or public service units.
