Context:The AVEIRO VIVA aims to contribute to the environmental education of young people through an active citizenship based on the values of European democracy and based on the value of sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources. The development of environmental education in young people has as purpose motivating them to be proactive social elements in paradigm shift environmental and eco-development. Has as its purpose the training of young people for future actors of social change. By raising awareness of a set of young people for the problems of the environment and the sustained growth is possible, by contagion, promote in the community a new way of looking at nature and for its resources, valuing the entire value chain related to biodiversity and green spaces.Objectives:1- Promote the education and environmental responsibility;2- Promote the breakdown of geographical and cultural barriers;3- Promoting training for intercultural dialog, active citizenship and social inclusion;4- Promote non-formal education as a methodology of professional and social training;5- Promote the voluntary work in the youth context, strengthen the international dimension of its activities and maximize the future cooperation and the sharing of good practice;6- Promote the involvement of the community in discussion and debate on the European youth;7- Promote the creation of spaces for sharing and international friendship between young people and youth organizations, and the fight against the feeling of social discrimination;8- Promote the development of oral skills in English;9- Promote the development of cultural and social competencies in young people to allow them to participate in the future in educational and professional European multicultural contexts.Participants:The participants will be volunteers who demonstrate interest and willingness to participate actively in the activities and that have little multicultural experience, aged between 16 and 26 years old.Activities:1- APV (Advance Planning Visit): will finalize and validate the whole process taking place in the framework of the project, in particular the local preparatory activities of the youth exchange, the plan of activities of the youth exchange and all logistics processes.2- Local preparatory activities preparatory of the youth exchange: will be local spaces of reflection, discussion and sharing, making effective the involvement of young people in the preparation, implementation, evaluation and dissemination activities;3- Exchange: will be the practical application of planning performed previously. Based on the base of the non-formal education, participants will have the opportunity to jointly and actively share experiences, thoughts, learning and details of their cultural, linguistic and environmental. In this line of thought, individually or in small groups, the young people will be challenged to establish contact between them and with other, select creative inspiration related with each creative element which will be mirrored elements cultural, environmental and social. All evidence will be object of sharing and reflection in order to promote discussion and opinion among young people. Reflection of current issues related to the environment, the employability and the increasing difficulties at socio-economic level that the families are going through, it becomes extremely relevant emphasize the theme of eco-recovery, efficiency in the use of resources and sustainable growth for the richness and potential of European cultural diversity and promote the internalization of individual European identity by making each and every one, increasingly, citizens of Europe.Methodology: non-formal education: group dynamics, construction games, icebreakers, cooperation and division of tasks, discussion and debate, sharing of cultural elements and good practices in youth and environment, resolution of challenges, interaction with the community and reflection on the learning, based on the methodology of the non-formal education.Results and Impacts:1- Pro-activity and awareness of European citizenship;2- Opening for the difference, dialog, discovery and less stigmatizing;3- Knowledge of the cultures involved;4- Social and environmental sensitivity;5- Availability for the learning in pairs and in groups;6- Sensitivity to fundamental values;7- Capacity and competence to establish an oral communication in English;8- Willingness to adopt habits and healthy lifestyles.Long-term benefits:The long-term benefits will feel by optimization in youth action, ability to promote innovative, diverse, motivating, attractive and contextualized actions, with great potential for learning, in which the young people feel valued in their opinions to act and develop as actors of change.
