Eco heART

Nowadays we can see that our planet is going throughout drastic environmental changes that are influencing our lives. The issue of environment pollution and none well informed citizens is a huge problem around the globe. Therefore we want to promote and raise awareness about clean environment. We decided to implement youth exchange Eco heart, during our exchange youngster will have opportunity to work together, break barriers between people from different backgrounds, promote inclusion, tolerance and participate in community. In this case exchange will have the topic ecology in connection to art. We will use alternative art techniques- recycling and reusing materials into art shapes that will give ecstatic-participatory bonus to local environment and with these we will connect locals with participants, will have presentation of the results in the city with reused installations on courtyards. Installations will be created from cardboard boxes, tetra pack, cans, plastic bottles etc. with some imagination we will give new life to items that are used to be thrown away. As a bonus result will be blog that will be made by participants every day. We will organize 7 days youth exchange "Eco heART" in March 2015, to which 25 youth representatives from Greece, Latvia, Estonia, Italy and Slovenia will attend. During this week they will take part in workshops about ecology and creative recycling in the city Maribor in creative space where they will enjoy creative atmosphere, beautiful nature and healthy way of creating. Last but not least, they will have a lot of fun getting to know the city with guided tours and free time, to experience the city life themselves and have a chance to get to know each other with social evenings. Objectives: •To raise awareness about today’s’ problem of environmental and importance of recycling • Active participation and European citizenship • To foster creative thinking and expression through art and new technologies • To foster the value of intercultural dialogue as a mean of promoting cooperation and collective spirit • To promote the idea of European citizenship • To promote the programme “Youth in Action” as a useful tool for future projects
