For ten years now , the FD MJC / CAJT Chardon Lorrain organized (with the help and support of an association of local military history ) , a project of updating German concrete trenches of the Great War . This year he will complete the implementation of the access circuit ( railings, small bridges , small stairs, walkways , ...) and to maintain and consolidate the work done in previous years to allow always optimal reception of visitors. Symbolically, we thought it important to share this project between young French and German youth , around a common story that we want to build bonds of sincere friendship and continue to scale our Europe of reconciliation and peace . These links have started last year with a " make - whole" during construction . In continuation of last year, we also want to put a fun and cultural to this site with two key aspects . The first will be working with two photo- journalists met last year in the yard and then working on the centenary of the First World War. Since we are building a project titled: " Friendship is born in the trenches " : young French and Germans involved in the project become smugglers memory relay a humanist message and artisans an intergenerational link. There are international and carries a strong sense of dimension. Hundred years after an unspeakable conflict , ensure the transmission of this memory through the combination of youth and adults together in an item. Encouraged to value all recently rediscovered historical heritage, these young people are working to reconcile their former enemy nations . And this is where the challenge of this project : to develop a cursed place once international friendships . From workshops "reporters " image , youth ( accompanied by two professional photojournalists ) collect the words and the feelings of everyone involved in this project, thus initiating the techniques of journalism and decision view , showing that experience. The idea is to create a DVD , a real tool to talk, share and discuss the experience with the reconciliation between the two peoples , the story of teenagers who grasp the big story in their personal history. A particular work must still be carried out on the distribution of this DVD, in both languages , in France and Germany. What is certain is that it aims to be a tool, an experience, and not just a travel journal. On this territory , strongly influenced by the great war, remembrance projects are taking place . Some have turned to the arts and the future. It is important for us, the views of the project. Discussions are currently engaged with Eric Didym , complete artist around photography and entertainment to imagine working with these young people. In conjunction with our partners Germans , we chose a homestay . Thus, each of the 13 enrolled in the French shipyard welcome home a young German . We want to promote the exchange of family time to allow a privileged relationship. But common time will also take place , in addition to the activities outlined here: evenings , picnics , friendly moments between young people, and sometimes also with all families . The objectives of this exchange is simple enough : to know and discover the culture , exchange and create together around a common history, strengthen the friendship between our peoples and prepare tomorrow's Europe . Throughout the duration of the exchange , regular moments of discussion and exchange will be organized , as well as evaluation time , where everyone can express their views on the project and community life. This project will bring together 13 young French and Germans 13 , and six accompanying adults . The DVD set will form the basis of discussions and debates in both countries .
