The “Eat. Move. Connect.” Project will take place in 1 Mai, close to the city Oradea. The project has two parts: a seminar for youth workers, and a youth exchange. The participating countries are the following: Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Greece and Romania. There will be a total of 21 participants at the seminar, having 3 youth workers from each country, and there will be 35 participants at the youth exchange, 5 participants from each country. The project will take place in fall of 2016, where youth workers will develop a common strategy for helping the youths in their country to be better informed about the advantages and possibilities of a healthy lifestyle. By various workshops, round table discussions, and presentations, the youth workers will work together to acquire knowledge, skills and methods necessary to be promoters of sport and healthy lifestyle for young people, they will also develop a booklet consisting of games, which can be used in different sporting events for the youth. With the help of specialists in the field, such as sociologists, psychologists, nutritionist, fitness specialists and a motivational speaker, the youngsters of the exchange, will get the chance to learn about all the benefits that a healthy lifestyle can have on the mind and body. The participants of the youth exchange will work together on creating a menu consisting of healthy foods and a complementary exercise plan, while being in an intercultural environment. The target group of the seminar are the youth workers (having no age limit) who actively work with youths. The target group of the youth exchange consists of youths between the age of 13-30, who have a sedentary lifestyle and are open and interested in making a change of lifestyle.The project idea is based on the common issue of unhealthy lifestyle experienced among young people, having unhealthy eating habits and generally a sedentary lifestyle. By creating the proper context, we intend to help youngsters improve their skills and competences in order to guide them to a more active lifestyle. Through developing a common strategy, we will be able to assure the youth’s active participation in different sorts of physical activities. The objective of the seminar is to create a common strategy to help youngsters engage in a more active lifestyle and to develop a healthy eating habit. The main objective is to help workers become promoters of sports and healthy lifestyle, thus continuously promoting healthy lifestyles and organizing events focused on sport. The objective of the youth exchange is to present the possibilities and benefits of a healthy lifestyle to the participants, helping them to develop a healthier eating habit and making physical activities a part of their everyday life. With different informal and non-formal methods, such as creating a special, healthy menu for themselves and each other, or having round table discussions with different specialists, they will be able to familiarize themselves with the perks of a healthy life.For achieving our goals, we will use methods/tools as: workshops, round table discussions, creative problem solving, role playing games, physical exercises (yoga, pilates, aerobic etc.), presentations, intercultural evenings.We expect that after the seminar, the youth workers will implement the strategies in their countries, successfully promoting the healthy lifestyle among the youth, through various events. We expect for the participants of the youth exchange to be well informed after the project about all there is to know about leading a healthy lifestyle, also we expect them to make a significant change in their lives, letting go of their unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyle.
