The training course project "EaP Youth Policy Academy" will bring 35 participants from Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia for a 6 day training course on youth policy development to Lithuania from 25 to 30 of May, 2016. The project will gather youth policy stakeholders, youth councils representatives from 7 countries, in Lithuania, to discuss participatory youth policy development, co-management, youth work implementations and future youth policy vision in the region and build capacities of participants to implement it in their countries.TC derives directly from recommendations how to strengthen cooperation with and within EaP region in the youth field: http://issuu.com/mariusulozas/docs/eap_recommendations__final and builds up on EU Presidency Eastern partnership youth forums in Lithuania (October, 2013) and Latvia (February, 2015) provides space to transform outcomes into strategies and policy actions. Bring different youth policy stakeholders we aim to sum up the learning outcomes and to put them into strategic development plans for each of participating country. Also, we would develop advocacy plans how to advocate for youth work and youth policy (especially strengthening youth participation) development in all countries. The project aims to:- strengthen cooperation of different stakeholders in each participating country; - train key personnel in Youth policy institutions on State and NGO side;- create Baltic+EaP regional vision for youth policy and youth participation development; - empower national youth councils (NYC) and NGOs in EaP region to cooperate and develop a common vision on youth issues in the region and civil society development gaining good practices from Lithuania and Latvia;- promote participatory and evidence-based policy making in EaP countries; - Strengthen links of youth policy with other sectors - Ministries of foreign affairs and embassies, Parliaments, Development Agencies. Training course will be based on the non-formal learning methodology, learning from hands-on experience, practicing things they learn, reflecting on results and own learning, space will be provided to share good practice from EaP and Baltic counties (Lithuania, Latvia), visit interesting examples on co-management, study cases of implementation of national youth policy institutions and local youth work in Lithuania. We think that capacity building training course will provide space and support participants development of 8 key competencies and specific competencies on advocacy, democracy, participation, communication which will support them in the promotion of change in their region. Participants awareness and understanding of different cultures, countries, democracy practices will be raised. Finally, through engaging in policy development and promoting changes in society they will develop a sense of participation, one of core principles of European citizenship and identity.
