The Lisbon European Council defined an ambitious strategy for Europe to become ’the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world’, emphasising the need for the creation of an environment conducive to starting up and developing innovative businesses and especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Increasing the rate of new business creation by women is essential to stimulate innovation and employment in our economies. Research has shown that women face a number of difficulties in establishing and maintaining businesses (Study “Young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, ethnic minorities entrepreneurs and co-entrepreneurs in the EU and Central and Eastern Europe”).Women participation in self-employment has modestly increased since 1995 and amounted to 28 % in the EU-25 in 2003(Benchmarking enterprise policy. 2004). As female labour market participation in general has made good progress, approaching the 60 % target, self-employment has continued to be an option for comparatively few women. The pool of female entrepreneurial talent is still underexploited in the EU. The report “Promoting entrepreneurship for women” pointed out that further work is necessary in the areas of:- Improving training.- Facilitating networking.- Improving access to finance.Considering the previous data, the project e-Chance 2.0 aimed:- To foster the entrepreneurial mindset on women,- To promote the access to the training through the uses of flexible and interactive tools, - To improve the woman skills and qualifications regarding the use of technologies based on web 2.0. ,- To promote the innovation and creativity among women collective, - To improve the self-employability of women. As a result, the training contents that will be available in the Web 2.0 will be really useful for the target group. The main project outcome was a flexible and open training tool that promoted the entrepreneurial mindset on women, improving the personal skills and fostering the capacities regarding to knowledge society.WP1 Project management and coordination: the WP required a continuous communication among the project partners (e-mail, net meeting, telephone, etc.). The management was reinforced by the celebration of 4 transnational meetings that allowed the verification of the advances in the project implementation, the adoption of strategic decisions, the sharing of difficulties or problems that surged during the project running, etc. WP2 Transference: Analysis and Contents: The WP aimed to elaborate two main tasks: Analysis of the training needs of the target group; Analysis of the contents of the previous e-Chance project contents. The main goal of this WP was to establish a set of guidelines for transference. WP3 Contents updating and adaptation.
