The promoter of the project was Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych (Complex of Secondary Schools) in Bytow and a partner institution was Tellus Ltd in Plymouth in Great Britain. The project was attended by 32 third grade students: 16 - the profession techniques vehicles and 16 - in the profession IT technician. Four groups took part in 2 - weeks trainings, 1 group - 8 students; the first group started in the autumn 2014, the second group went in March 2015, the third in the autumn and the fourth in March 2016. Each group was accompanied by a guardian. The most important reason to create the project was low motivation of young people to learn and improve their skills and also a significant unemployment among graduates technicians in our region, and hence, the increasing migration of young people abroad who take a job not related to an educated profession, because they do not believe in their abilities and skills in an international group. The main objectives of the project were: 1. Taking effective actions to make graduates of schools attractive, mobile and well-prepared employees, who will perform their educated profession. 2. The awakening of the need to improve qualifications continuously by students. 3. Improving the qualifications and skills sought by present businesses. 4. The increase of the self-esteem, motivation and activity of students. 5. Improvement of practical language skills especially in the field of information technology and automotive branch. 6. Gaining practical experience and professional knowledge that fulfill the standards applicable to the examinations of professional competence 7. Improving the quality of vocational education by allowing students to work in real conditions with equipment using modern technologies. 8. Acquainting with the equipment, with the applicable procedures, organization and quality of work abroad. 9. Enriching the curriculum vitae of the beneficiaries of a new experience, cultural and moral aspects. 10. The increase of communication skills and adaptability. Groups of IT technicians carried on their trainings at the institute Tellus Ltd. Their tasks, mainly based on the work of the Windows Server 2012 enabled the execution of projects that meet the requirements necessary to obtain a certificate. Two weeks of practice prepared and raised the competence that helped to pass the exam confirming qualifications in the profession: Designing of local computer networks and network administration. The groups of professional automotive technicians carried out trainings in professional workshops of English local entrepreneurs according to the schedule of classes. The course took into account the content of examination in the profession and it related to the diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems of motor vehicles. Pupils obtained these qualifications at the end of the second semester of the third class. The most important form of achieving the desired effect was learning through work, real experience, place in a problematic situation. Beneficiaries acquired competences calculated in accordance with the credit system APT Award. The expected result of participation in the project was new experience gained by students in the Informatics and automotive fields. Certificates, including Europass - Mobility made beneficiaries more reliable and attractive employees. Gained knowledge let participants have better results on examinations confirming vocational qualifications. Students’ entrepreneurship and their organizational skills have increased. Better knowledge of vocational English appeared in the students’ communication skills and gave them more confidence. The realization of the project allowed to use the potential of young people efficiently , it has had a positive impact on the development of corporate social responsibility, a better opinion about vocational education. It encouraged future students to benefit from this form of personal development and training.
