DUALHVE - New Developments in Work Linked Training - Dual Education in Higher Vocational and Professional Education

The project will produce a research-based, reference material on Dual Vocational Education (DVE), addressing issues such as; the relative position of dual education in the higher vocational education system; the costs and benefits of dual education for stakeholders; the role of labour market stakeholders in dual education (development of dual education, models of learning, theory-practice relationships, workplace supervision, potential contribution of dual education to individual companies' development) and the assessment of out-of-school education and curricula. Analyses will be undertaken as regards the state-of-the-art relating to dual higher vocational and professional education in the participating partner countries. Data collection will take place partly via existing literature (research reports, study guides, curricula), partly through individual interviews (teachers, tutors, companies) and partly through group interviews (students, graduates). End products will comprise a series of national and European reports (context of higher education, analyses of dual education) a support handbook (for the effective and efficient functioning of Dual Vocational Education) and a project website able to host all the developed materials. Results will be produced in EN only. Dissemination will include regular meetings, conferences and workshops with stakeholders, the use of existing partner networks for the distribution of the studies and the use of a dedicated website to host all project results. In partner countries where dual education is not currently in place, partners will further introduce the project results to a number of key decision-makers.
