LEARNER'S ACTIVITY " Learning by fabricating, learn to build, learning by creating". Robotics engages students in situations that require them to apply math and science and not just to study them . Because understanding is more than learning , is learning and knowing how to implement what we know in this context. This is the central idea behind learner's activity of this project. It is a program of Initial Vocational Training of 15 students of Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from 1st EPAL of Stavroupolis and 2 Teachers, concerning training in Robotics. The program will include 40 hours training in Educational Robotics and professional visits to companies and organizations that use automations. Key objectives of the project are: • To provide initial training on the study areas of the students (Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering) • Linking Training to the labor market through professional visits to companies using automations - Dealing with new technologies and innovations • The culture of team spirit , the acquisition of useful experiences , enhancing self-confidence and creativity • Improving language skills in business English • Getting acquainted with the culture of Spain • Certification of acquired knowledge in Spain • The transfer of knowledge and best practices in our country The expected impact on participating students - teachers mainly concerns the application to the class of new objects that will be taught. Also strengthen the European dimension of education, knowledge of new educational systems , which will give impulses and reflections on new perspectives in the provision of education .  The expected results of this activity are summarized as follows : • as far as students are concerned, to widen their knowledge horizons , to educate them to cutting - edge technology followed by the presentation of its application in enterprises and organizations, in obtaining the Europass certificate of the acquired new knowledge • concerning social knowledge and skills of students, by developing their socialization, acquisition experience, participation in educational and cultural activities • concerning the teachers, the opportunity to participate in an innovative educational process and bring them in contact with education and entrepreneurship in a foreign country. The mobility activities will take place in Barcelona , Spain, in October 2014 and will run for two weeks . ΔΡΑΣΗ ΠΡΟΣΩΠΙΚΟΥ Framework of the project It is a fact that an essential prerequisite for the improvement of the educational work of the educational units is not only the evaluation but also the restructuring of the educational institution, in the context of the contemporary social, economic, cultural and technological changes. Any attempt on the improvement of each educational institution should be the concern of the institution itself. Thus, it has the primary responsibility and the authority to bring everyone involved with the work of the educational community into action, since they are the only ones who are fully acquainted with the strengths and weaknesses of their institution. For the improvement of these weaknesses, current methods and techniques widely used in many countries should be employed. Objectives of the project: • Acquaintance and study of the methods and tools used in schools in Italy for the evaluation process. • Acquisition of knowledge and gaining valuable experience of the applied teaching methods and of the good practices for the improvement of the quality of vocational education in the context of the self-evaluation of our school unit. Number and profile of the participants: The project involves 16 permanent teachers belonging and serving in the 1st EPAL Stavropolis. 6 of them teach general education courses (Greek Language and Literature, Maths, Physics, etc.) and 10 are speciality teachers (Computer Science - Engineering – Mechanics etc.) Activities - Methodology: Visiting three schools in Sicily and participation in relevant workshops on the following subjects: -"Definition of the ideal indicators for evaluating the educational units and the estimated results from this process. " -"The way each educational unit sets its objectives and how these objectives are applied in relation to the central educational policy." -"Teaching and the pedagogical practice - Special innovative teaching methods." Expected results : -Improvement of the educational work of the educational unit. -Approximation to the methods and techniques used in other countries to ensure the quality of school. -Development of social and intercultural skills through interaction with teachers in schools in Italy. -Development of professional skills related to teaching and to innovative methods of teaching. The mobility activities will take place in Sicilia , Italy, on October 2014 and will run for one week .
