Our school employs 71 people including 24 vocational subjects teachers and 9 foreign language teachers. We would like to improve our achievements and teach skills relevant to the demands of the international job market. We also aim to equalize the opportunities for our students with the opportunities their peers from other European Union countries have, as well as facilitate their balanced development.
Our school provides a fully qualified teaching staff, however to achieve our goal we would like to increase both the language and professional competencies of our employees within the A1 Action. We also hope to undertake and carry out projects on the eTwinning platform.
The project will be realized in two major areas: participants involvement in language courses and job shadowing. A vocational subject teacher and a French language teacher will take part in the English language course increasing the language competency to be able to realize projects on the eTwinnig platform, vocational subjects teachers will take part in an English courses. The head teacher and a vocational subject teacher will take part in an Italian language course within the framework of partnership co-operation. In the job shadowing will take part the head teacher and two language teachers. Also vocational subjects teachers (3 IT teachers, 2 Electronics teachers) will be sent to the partnership school to improve their job competencies.
Methodology applied in project realization: analysis of the project on the basis of entries in the practical learning registers and goal achievement files, creating a brochure containing lesson plans for non-participants, and performing presentations for vocational subjects teachers. Writing an action plan to achieve long-term goals on the basis of observations made by the participants. Working out of strategies for the coming years to increase the quality of work.
Results and benefits: Participation in the project will increase the teachers’ language skills, which will result in increasing students’ language skills. We will have an opportunity to introduce new teaching methods, using newly acquired tools and improve the curriculum. We will improve our educational offer and we will be able to achieve better results at preparing our students for the final exams, both general and vocational. One of the results will be making contact with the partner, aiming at introducing the A2 action projects. We will be realizing projects within the eTwinning platform. The long-term goal is our work quality improvement and acting towards the wellbeing of our students to improve their language and vocational competencies.
