'Don't Let The Technology Take Over Your Life' is a youth exchange under Key Action 1-. The project covers a 7 months time and the main activities takes place in İzmir, Turkey during the dates 16-09-2014 and 24-09-2014. 6 young people from Jordan, Latvia, Iceland, Denmark, Belgium, Ukraine, and 7 people from Turkey is expected to participate in this youth exchange with a total number of 43 including the group leaders. The main goal of our project is to provide our participants an unique opportunity to gain an insight of technology addiction. Nowadays, most of the young people’s socialization is realized through applications in mobile phones and internet tools such as facebook, twitter, instagram etc. During this project, the participants will not have access to TV, mobile phones, computers or internet. They will only be able to be contacted through an e-mail adress that we will create. Objectives: 1.To increase awareness among stakeholders and our societies about technology addiction especially in young people 2. Providing /Reminding young people that there are many other ways to socialize without the help of Tech. devices. 3. Stimulating youth organizations and higher education institutions to cooperate to fight against technology addiction. Activities: 'Don't Let The Technology Take Over Your Life' is a complex youth exchange where theoretical, networking and sharing experiences will be mixed together with practical sessions where the participants will also have the opportunity to work on their own projects. Methods: The youth exchange will be based on several methods of non-formal education. The following methods will be used throughout the exchange: energizers (simple and fun games which will be used to open some sessions when the energy of the participants seem to be low), name games (in order to facilitate the learning of the other participants names), ice-breakers (games and other activities used to facilitate the non-formal introduction of the participants), brainstorming, debates, job shadowing, teamwork in intercultural subgroups.
