DLS-SDP(2014-2018)
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project was conceived in conjunction with the publishing of the school SDP (2014-2018). In this document, the main themes or areas which need to be improved were identified and a detailed action plan authored to address such needs. This project intends to offer an opportunity to 20 different participants, of which teachers and learning support assistants, who voluntarily and out of their own interest identified structured courses which are directly related to the SDP needs as outlined in the action plan. Additionally, in light of the imminent introduction of the tablets in the primary schooling, although not directly stated in the SDP (2014-2018), a number of teachers will have the opportunity to attend structured courses in relation to this new educational tool. A joint-office comprised of the school SMT and accounts department of the school will be instilled to attend to the different administrative facades this project will involve. This office will assist the participants before, during and after the training sessions. The assistance will take the form of helping participants to make travel arrangements, courses preparations amongst others. Evaluation, documentation archiving and collection of deliverables will also fall within the remit of this joint-office. At the end of the project a number of deliverables will be collated in a website for the school community to refer to. The deliverables will be in the form of a running journal authored during the structured course and a presentation which will be delivered to all members of staff during Staff Development Days. We do expect numerous positive impacts out of this project mainly; 1. Improved skills base of the participants 2. Increased collegiality between the members of staff 3. Increased synergy between teachers and LSA. 4. Improved sense of belonging within a European context. We also expect a long term benefit mainly that of an increased and honest belief that staff development is an integral part in the success of a school, Life long education is not a commodity but a necessity.
