The European Voluntary Service “Discover the Caucasus – Volunteering across cultures 3 (Part 2)” brings four volunteers from Germany to get active in two EVS hosting organisations in Armenia and Georgia.The EVS services will take place from October 2016 to September 2017, for a total of 12 months each.The involved partner organisations are:1. Sending and Coordinating Organisation- European Intercultural Forum e. V., Germany2. Hosting Organisations- Youth Cooperation Centre of Dilijan (YCCD) in Dilijan, Armenia (2 placements)- SIQA – Georgian Association of Educational Initiatives (SIQA) in Rustavi, Georgia (2 placements)The project aims to empower young people from Germany, Armenia and Georgia. Specific objec-tives include:- To strengthen interpersonal, intercultural and social competences of young people from Germany, Armenia and Georgia- To enhance the competences of young people from Germany, Armenia and Georgia in tak-ing an active role for societal concerns and in fostering social inclusion, equality and peace- To promote volunteering and active participation as a tool for personal and professional de-velopment, thus for employabilityVolunteers will support the work of the hosting organisations working with and for from deprived urban and rural areas in Armenia and Georgia. This includes:- Preparation, implementation and evaluation of non-formal educational activities for youth themes of European relevance, intercultural learning and/ or languages (workshops, discus-sion clubs, movie screening’s, etc. depending on the interest of the volunteers)- Preparation, implementation and evaluation of leisure activities for local youth (arts and crafts, dancing classes, sport activities, role games – depending on the interest of the vol-unteers)- Support to the hosting organisations with running activities and projects- Promotion of volunteering and active participation in local schools, youth clubs and eventsAs a result of the project activities, the four volunteers and the young local beneficiaries of the vol-unteers` activities gain multiple competences relevant for their personal development and their em-ployability and feel empowered to take action for their own life and for community concerns.The dissemination strategy of the project allows a broad outreach at local and international level, promoting volunteering and active participation, as well as raising awareness of the youth reality in rural regions of Armenia and Georgia. It includes online and offline activities such as local promo-tional activities, blogging, publishing articles written by the volunteers, organising final EVS event, etc.
