The 1st Primary School of Corinth is a historic school which dates back to the end of the eighteenth century. In recent years, more than 250 students are enrolled in the school annually. Because of its central location in the city of Corinth, pupils come from varying social strata and nationalities, which makes integration and cooperation even more difficult. At the same time, the social and economic conditions in Greece, have posed great strains on the Greek family and this in turn has huge effects on the behaviour and reactions of students. It has never been harder to create healthy, working, student groups at schools and teachers are called upon to contribute in the spirit of a modern and open school of learning, where all students are recognised as equal. The European Development Plan that has been designed for the school focuses on the three main pillars, namely new technologies in the classroom, teaching of foreign languages and Physical Education as the ideal ways to provide learning motives as well as instilling a spirit of cooperation and teamplay. We have chosen the following seminars based on the above pillars and with the following aims in mind:Προεπιλέξαμε τα παρακάτω σεμινάρια πάνω στους άξονες δράσεις που συμφωνήθηκαν με τους αντίστοιχους στόχους:1)Technology tools for Educators, Use of Interactive Whiteboards and the Internet – rendering learning more interesting and fun for students / modernizing the learning experience 2) Language and Practical Methodology: Creativity in the classroom, Innovation in Language Teaching: creating a love for languages and other cultures, making cooperation of all students a priority in the school community spirit 3)Physical Education in the New Primary School: highlighting the importance of healthy competition4) Learning through Drama: creating a positive learning environment through groupwork5) School Development and Quality Enhancement: new methods for the improvement of the SchoolAll seven teachers and the headmaster are eager to participate in the programme, have teaching experience and are good computer users.
